THEME OF THE YEAR 2021 : The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is 'Ecosystem Restoration' and Pakistan will be the global host for the big day. This day will also see the launch of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

സംപൂജ്യ സദസ്സിന് പ്രണാമം ,
ദൈവം മനിഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചശേഷം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞു “സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകുവിൻ .ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ കീഴടക്കുവിൻ സകല ജീവികളുടെയുംമേൽ നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് ആധിപത്യം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കട്ടെ .”ദൈവം അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചതുപോലെ ജനം പെരുകി .
പക്ഷെ പ്രകൃതിയെ കീഴടക്കുന്നതിനു പകരം അവർ അതിനെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങി. പൊന്മുട്ടയിടുന്ന താറാവിനെ കൊന്നിട്ട് സമ്പന്നനാകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച മണ്ടനായ മനുഷ്യനെ പോലെ , ചിലർ പ്രകൃതിയെ നശിപ്പിച്ച് ധനികരാകാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ ഫലമായി പരിസ്ഥിതിയിൽ മാറ്റം വരികയും, പ്രകൃതി, സംഹാരമൂർത്തിയായി മാറുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
വെള്ളപൊക്കം, മലയിടിച്ചിൽ, കൊടുംങ്കാറ്റ്, വരൾച്ച, കൊടുംചൂട് എന്നിവ മനുഷ്യനെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. പലതരത്തിലുള്ള മലിനീകരണം വഴി, പകർച്ചവ്യാധികൾ മനുഷ്യനെ കൊന്നുകൂട്ടുന്നു.ഇതിനൊക്കെ കാരണം മനുഷ്യന്റെ സ്വാർത്ഥമോഹമല്ലേ ?
പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവരെ, മണ്ണിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു, ചെടികളും മരങ്ങളും നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിച്ച്, മലിനീകരണം ഇല്ലാതാക്കി, പ്രകൃതിയെ സ്നേഹിക്കാനും പരിസ്ഥിതിയെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാനും നമുക്ക് പരിശ്രമിക്കാം. അപ്പോൾ പ്രകൃതിയിൽ പൂക്കളും പൂമ്പാറ്റകളും ഉണ്ടാകും, കിളികൾ പാട്ടുപാടും, മയിലുകൾ നൃത്തമാടും, കാലാവസ്ഥ അനുകൂലമാകും. ഈ ഭൂമിയിലെ ജീവിതം സ്വർഗ്ഗതുല്യമാകും.അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഒരു നല്ല നാളെയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി പരമാവധി പരിശ്രമിക്കുമെന്നു നമുക്ക് പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്യാം.

Respected teachers & dear friends,
God has given man, power & authority over all the creatures in the world. Instead of using the nature they started to exploit it. Just like the foolish man who killed the duck, which lay golden eggs, some greedy men, tried to exploit & destroy the environment. As a result, the nature became angry & showed her wrath in the form of flood, land-slide, storm, drought etc. which frightened the man. Through pollution, contagious diseases conquered man & it killed lacks of people.
Dear friends, we shall love soil & let us start to plant trees. Let us begin to love the environment & promise to protect it at any cost. Then there will be flowers & butterflies in the nature, birds to sing songs & peacocks to dance. The climate also will be favorable to us. Thus the life in the earth will be happy & joyful as in the heaven. Let us pledge today tat we will protect the nature & environment for a better tomorrow.
